why does it say Country:UK, but Made in France?

Haven't checked the actual version you refer to but the discogs "Country" heading refers to where the version was distributed NOT manufactured. Very often the country of manufacture is not the only place where the record is distributed. Very often vinyl is/was pressed in Germany and Holland but the "Country" should be listed as "Europe" because this is where the record is/was distributed. Many do not realise this and so there are many incorrectly listed submissions all over the discogs database. Someone who knows what they are doing will list something correctly that is made in Germany/Holland as "Europe", then someone else who has not read the submission guidelines comes along and adds their version to the database because they think it's different because it says "made in Germany/Holland" but really it is the same version as the European DISTRIBUTED one that is already on the database. A proper Geman/French/Holland distributed release will have liner notes and the copyright info on the labels written in their own language. Very often you see the copyright info written on the labels in English, German and sometimes French altogether - this tells you that this is an European DISTRIBUTED release despite the fact it may have been Germany or Holland. Hope this makes sense cos this massive misunderstanding is f***ing up the discogs database!! Just read the submission guidelines on "Country". Peace.
