Awful Montreal disco rock...great stuff...starting with the disco-floor synthesizer-wild Bowie-influenced "Space Love" and then filling the rest of the side with disco covers of 1960s hits, each guaranteed to irritate fans of Steppenwolf, Donovan, and the Kinks, the first two mixing disco with rock but "You Really Got" (covered by Van Halen shortly after) done in pure disco mode (which perhaps helped inspire the Kinks to jokingly subtitle "Lola..the disco version" during their Low Budget Tour)...at the time these rock covers were probably seen as the worst type of going-commercial move, but in retrospect this took some gonads, considering disco fans typically hated with a passion the denim-clad monsters of hard rock and did everything they could to distance their styles and fashions from that previous era, and the hard-rock disco-sucks movement would have seen disco versions of their sacred cows the worst sins possible: this would have probably lead to this outfit receiving physical pain in places like Michigan.

Without the disco elements on side one, this band could have been part of that Canadian hard rock/glam rock sound that sold at home and was even allowed to cross the border and back up bands in places like Detroit. This might have been what they attempted for with the second side, which is a mix of pop and pomp rock and really nothing much like the first side and just completely and totally awful, only for hardcore fans of obscure 70s pomp rock. The only thing that's funny about side two is the last cut which is awful pomp rock, sounding like it was inspired by so many bands--Rush, 10cc...
